Guess what everyone? I'm still here

I am sorry I had to be gone for awhile again. I tried to work it out with my wife and it didn't happen. We got divorced in 2004. If you read my earlier post in Stay Tuned, you will find that I promised to tell you about the miracle that happened when we missed dinner that day.

Here's the scoop. I messed up. I couldn't control my anger when she made it home and went to getting on me about not having prepared everything for us to go. My son had soiled his diaper and I hadn't caught it yet. She had to change him and was mad while doing so. It made me angry that I didn't even get an I'm sorry for being late. Here I am getting talked to like a child for not being ready on time and we were ready. My son and I had been ready waiting on her even before I got the call from her at the store.

When she went to questioning why I didn't have this and that in the bag, I said to her in a mean and angry tone, "You get him ready then!" I walked outside to cool off. I stayed out there for a long time trying to get my emotions under control and give her time to get ready to go as well.

My family had not spent hardly any time with my son. Everyone that lived in Dallas at the time was at my sister's house. This was to be the great introduction. I kept repeating over and over. Eventually she came out side. I had told her when we met and several times before, "Do not ever follow me outside if we are in an argument." But she did and it caused more harm than good. Now, I have a very good memory and can remember things from my childhood. This my mom can attest to, but for the life of me I cannot remember what she said. My response included a cuss word at an object of the conversation, but not her. It came out before I could even think about what I was saying. She went back in the house and I stayed outside. 2-5 minutes later she came back outside and had our son with her. Got in her car after handing me the phone and left.

My sister was on the phone. She told me that there were still a few people there. She could sense that something was wrong with me or my wife had told her. At any rate she said to come on down. 2 pastors who were my friends were there and that it would be good for me to be around them. I said I was coming as tears welled up in my eyes and I watched my wife and son leave and for the first time I didn't know where they were headed.

I got off the phone with my sister and walked back in the house crying. I went to the restroom and sat on the toilet. Satan was there at the ready. Watching. Waiting. Telling me to just kill myself and I wouldn't have to deal with this any more. I was just about to do it too.

Right about that time, God spoke to me and said, "I still love you."

I heard the words of a song that I absolutely loved to hear my grandma sing. It started, " I love the Lord, he heard my cry!"

Even now as I write this I am crying because he did hear my cry and saved me from dooming my son to life without his Dad as I had been. Stay tuned for more, he ain't done with me yet!

How To Build A Massive, Hyper Responsive List Of Eager Subscribers

How To Build A Massive, Hyper Responsive List Of Eager Subscribers

by Justin Blake, CEO ViralShock.com

Every online business provides great service to generate satisfaction among their customers. As each and every customer receives satisfaction over their products or the services they get, there is a great chance that they will become a return customer and buy again. Better yet, they will recommend you to other people that could generate more business for you and your site.

As more traffic is driven to your site, you can entice many of them to subscribe to your mailing list or opt-in list. This is a list where in website visitors agree to be sent promotional materials such as newsletters, catalogs and such that could keep them updated about your site or the niche of your site. These promotional materials are sent via e-mail to the members of the list in different time intervals.

When using e-mail as the media of your marketing and advertisements, you eliminate the need for high costs. Email is free and if you can manage to make your own promotional advertisements you can also save a bundle there. With an opt-in subscribers list, you are pretty sure that what you are sending out is received, viewed and read by the subscribers and not simply being deleted. They have signed up for service and have consented in receiving it.

This means that there are constant reminders to your subscribers about all your products, new products and services as well as any promotions and special deals you are having. There is also the chance that they can be forwarded to other potential customers as they tell their friends and families about you and your site.

Of course you should be also aware that a subscriber may unsubscribe when they feel that they are not getting what they want or expected. Make sure that they are satisfied with your opt-in marketing strategies and keep them excited in receiving your newsletters and catalogs. Here are some tips that can help you build a list of eager subscribers.

Make your promotional materials interesting and fun. Try to use a little creativity but not too over artsy. Build around what your product or service is about. For example; if you are selling car parts, put some pictures of what is new in the auto parts world, a new wing door possibly that can fit any car and make it look like a Lamborghini.

Try to research what people are looking for, these way, you stay one step ahead of them all the time and you will be their bearer of new tidings. They will be eager to receive what you are sending them because they new you always have fresh and new things to share with them.

Write good articles that can be very informational but light at the same time. If your subscribers enjoy your articles, they will go to your site by clicking the links that you will be putting on your newsletter to read some more. You can provide articles that can connect to many people. Be diverse in your articles. Put something humorous, then put something informational, then put something that has both.

Are you wary about this because you don’t like writing? No problem, there are many professional and experienced article writers that can do the job for you for minimal fees. They know what they are doing and can provide the need that you have for your newsletters, the money that you pay for your articles are going to be met by the many sign-ups and the potential profit from the sales that you will get.

Create and send an E-book to your customers about anything that is related to your business or site. Use your knowledge and expertise in the field you have chosen to help other people who are similarly interested. Offer this e-book for free. You can write about anything informational and helpful to your subscribers. For example; you can do manuals and guides in so many things. This e-book could be used as a reference for many people.

Share this e-book with everyone, even other sites; just make sure that they don’t change the links in the e-book that will lead people to your site. If you want, you can always get some people to write it for you just like your articles. Your investment once again will be covered by the great marketing this will generate.

Add e-coupons in your newsletters that will help them avail to special discounts. Put a control number in your e-coupon so that they can only be used once. When people get discounts that can be found in your newsletters, they will be eager to receive your newsletter in anticipation of what you are promoting next.

If your subscribers can get benefits from your newsletters, they will be very eager to receive them. Just don’t flood your mailing list with mails so that you don’t annoy your subscribers.

7 Ways to Speed up Computers

Are you sick and tired of it taking forever to open a website, file or program? Did your computer seem to run a lot faster when you first got it? If your answers to these 2 questions were yes, then please read on. In this article I am going to give you 7 ways to speed up your computer. They can all be done today, even if you are new to computers. The 7 ways to speed up your computer that I am going to share with you are so easy, believe me you can do it! These are techniques that computer technicians in several different support organizations do and some charge a lot of money for their walking you through these processes. You are going to get them today at no charge. Are you ready? Then let's begin!

Step 1: Scandisk
You should run scandisk at least once a month. This will make sure that your computer can read all of the information on your disk. How will this speed up my computer? I'm glad you asked! You see your computer has in it's hard drive what the technicians call redundancy. What I mean is if your computer is trying to read a file and the data isn't read correctly from the disk, the computer tries to read that information again and again a set number of times. This results in slower loading times. When scandisk is ran regularly this keeps your disk free of these storage errors and thus enables the computer to get the information it needs from the disk as fast as possible. Scandisk should be run before the next step each and every time. I know you're asking, how do I run scandisk. It’s simple. Find that icon on your desktop or in your start menu labeled 'My Computer'. In there you will see a listing of all the drives in your computer. Right click on the drive you want to scan and go to properties. There, you will have a tools tab. Click on it. You will see a button that says check for errors. This is scandisk or also called checkdisk on different versions of windows. There are 2 different modes, Standard or Thorough. Standard checks and makes sure that all the bits and pieces of your files are in the spot on the disk where it thinks they should be. In other words, it checks for filing errors. Thorough does a standard check as well as it tests each spot on the disk where the drive can write something and makes sure that what it writes, it reads back the same thing. If it doesn't read the same information back, it marks that spot as bad so that it is not used. This keeps down that redundancy thing we spoke of earlier. Wasn't that easy? Now, on to Step 2.

Step 2: Defrag
Defrag should be run once a week if you use your computer more than 14 hours a week. This equates to about 2 hours a day. Most people who actively use their computer will fall into this category. Defrag, whose real name is disk defragmenter, is your best friend for speed. You see when your computer writes something to the disk; it starts the disk to turning and drops bits of the data you want to write wherever there is a hole. It then tells the filing system where it placed that piece. So your file could be literally broken into 20 pieces! Your disk takes longer to load the file because it has to jump around to different spots to gather the pieces together when it needs it. Defrag takes care of this by gathering the pieces all together and writing them back to the disk in one piece. This way when you need the information, it's all right there. To run defrag it's the same as where we went for scandisk. You go to 'My Computer' and you right click on the drive you want to run defrag on and go to properties. There go to the tools tab. Click the Defragment button. Wow this is getting easier by the minute! On to step 3.

Step 3: Background Programs
Background programs really slow down your computer's performance. They accomplish this by using up your computer's resources. Resources are the combined power of your processor (brain), memory, and disk space. These 3 are the equivalent to horsepower. This is where you will gain a lot of your speed back as well. If you look at an area of your screen right now, I can show you a fraction of some of these that you never thought of. The area I want you to look at is called your system tray. It is located next to your clock, which is opposite your start menu. If your start menu is on the left side, then the clock is on the right. Next to the clock you will see these little icons or pictures. These are programs that run on your computer whenever it boots. Guess what, these are background programs. They are there to help load things you need faster. If you are following this guide you really don't need most of them. Do you? Here's how you get rid of them and most of the others that you can't even see as well. Sorry folks who are on Windows 2000, this step won't work for you. If you read to the end I will give you a bonus that will make up for it, I promise. Ok, for the rest of you, click on start. Click on run. Type msconfig. Click ok. You should get a system configuration utility. Be very careful here and follow my instructions exactly. Click on the startup tab at the top. You will have a list of all the programs that run when your computer boots or starts. If you look down the list there will be some names that are familiar to you. When you see those names I want you to think: "Do I really need this program running all the time?" If the answer is no, uncheck the box. For example, some of you may have heard of RealPlayer. There's a smart start icon associated with it. You really don't need real player running when you are only going to be playing FreeCell now do you? :) On to step 4.

Step 4: Temporary Files
Temporary files hold up space on your disk. These files are most of the time useless. Temporary files are just that; files that were temporarily created by a program or installer. They are supposed to be deleted when not needed any longer, but a lot of programs do a poor job of cleaning them up. Helping them out will get you more speed for your horsepower. For example: let's take temporary internet files. When you go to a website every element of that website's decorations are stored in a temp file on your computer. Your computer does this to help supposedly. It's supposed to help by when you visit the same site again; the elements of the website will already be on your computer and therefore don't have to be downloaded again. This in theory should speed up your surfing right? Wrong! Here's what really goes down. For every element of the website, your computer reads every temp file to see if it matches. Every single file in your temporary internet files folder! To get a grasp of this here's what I want you to do. Open internet explorer. Go to the tools menu and click on internet options. Click the settings button. Then click the view files button. Do you see what I mean? Every file! Now...Close the temporary internet files window. Click OK on the settings window. Do you see that button next to settings on the internet options window? Its labeled delete files. Click it. Check delete all offline content. Click ok. When the hourglass is gone, you are all clean! This should be done once a month. This will keep your whole computer running smoothly. The secret lies in Internet Explorer. It's integrated so much into windows, when it has a problem, windows has a problem. What I am saying is when you opened my computer in steps 1 and 2. You were using internet explorer. Ok. Nuff said. On to step 5!

Step 5: Antivirus
Good Antivirus software is an absolute must! There are several choices to choose from. Some cost money and some don't. Viruses hide on your computer and wreak havoc. If you don't have antivirus software on your computer, you will never know they are there. They sit and hide out until their appointed time and then interfere with your computer. Viruses are programs written by people with too much time on their hands and not enough morals. They sit and think of ways to make your day bad. Some viruses will sit on your computer and do nothing but open up connections to other servers all over the internet. What does that do? It slows your computer down drastically! Nuff said. Your choices are to get paid antivirus software like Norton, Mcafee, or Computer Associates. If you don't have the cash to spare then you can go to your favorite search engine like Yahoo or Google and enter in 'free antivirus download' and get a list of all kinds of scanners. Some is far better than none. Some of the best free software that I have found are AVG, Avast!, and ClamWin. If you have a fear of installing software, never fear. There are also free online virus scanners. Again, you go to your favorite search engine and type in 'free online virus scan' and you will get plenty of results. Beware though, with these scanners you run the risk of getting infected still. The reason is you have to go to the site and scan the computer yourself, preferably once a week. In that time a virus could have already infected your machine. Antivirus software that you install on the computer checks every file, every time it's used thus drastically decreasing the chances of infection. It's like a flu shot. Some of the good online virus scanners are Norton, Panda, and BitDefender. Now, on to step 6.

Step 6: Recycle Bin
It is very important to keep your recycle bin empty. What I mean is this, you don't want to have hundreds of files sitting in your recycle bin that you deleted 6 months ago. They are taking up valuable space. Windows uses your drive as memory to run programs. When you run out of physical memory, it uses what's called a page or swap file and stores it there. These recycle bin files are taking up space that windows could be using for memory. Every bit of memory you can get adds to your horsepower. So for God's sake, please keep your recycle bin tidy. Get rid of things that you are sure you won't need again. When you go to delete something, and you are absolutely sure you won't need it again, you can hold down the shift key and press the delete key to permanently delete it without sending it to the recycle bin. And now, last but not least, step 7.

Step 7: Adware and Spyware
I like to call these small time viruses. The industry calls them parasites. Norton calls them extended threats. Do you get my drift? What is adware and spyware you may ask? They are actually quite similar. I'll start first by explaining the ways that you can get them on your computer. Let's say you download a 'free' program to run on your computer that you think is pretty neat. If you are like most of us, you don't take the time to read the license agreement. If you did, you would find a line similar to: by installing this product you agree to install xyz product which will be used to send marketing information to the makers of the software. Do you see how they get you? One of the other ways you can get it is by going to some random website. It doesn't matter what it is, but they have this script that runs as the page is loading and it installs the adware and/or spyware on your computer. The last way that I will discuss here is through a virus. There are viruses out there whose sole job is to download adware, spyware, keyloggers, and other malicious software on to your computer. These things really slow your computer down. Here's how they work. Adware and spyware install on your computer and watch what you do, where you surf, you know what you are interested in. They then open a connection to a server and report your activities. They are very good at what they do! Where adware and spyware differ is spyware does nothing but report your activities. Adware on the other hand reports your activities and the server it reports to in turn sends it an ad to display on your computer. Now, just like there are antivirus programs out there, there are now very good antispyware and antiadware programs on the market. The one I recommend is here:

http://www.brownsblessing.com/noadware.html

It does a really good job at cleaning all this garbage out for you. No worries!

In conclusion there are 7 ways to speed up your computer. Run scandisk, defrag, get rid of excess background programs, delete temporary files, get some antivirus software, and also get a good adware and spyware remover utility. I hope you have found this information useful. I hope that I have helped someone here with this information and I pray that you will check out some other very useful information at

I love you all. God bless you!

P. S. For you Windows 2000 users, I made a promise to you back in step 3. Here's where I deliver! If you can get access to a windows 98,ME, or XP machine. You can copy msconfig.exe to a disk and use it on your computer to get rid of background programs using the directions in step 3. Just search the c: drive for msconfig.exe and copy it to floppy. Bring it to your computer and run it. God Bless!

Stay Tuned

I'm back and I have just updated my site BrownsBlessing.com. Look for some new business opportunities and some that are gone. I have added some very helpful links throughout the site to help you all promote your businesses and in the comming days will be adding a very special link to help beginners in Work-At-Home ventures to get up and going in no time by a site and program developed by my mentor Erich Winnecke. I would like to give a shout out to Rita who has posted some very encouraging comments.

Now for some of what's been going on while there were no new posts. My last post of 2005, I told everyone how excited I was that everything was going right for me for once in my life and how happy I was. Well, the very next day January 1st, 2006 things took a turn for the bad. My wife and I's problems in our marriage escalated at a rapid pace. It came down to me feeling more hurt and pain than I could have ever imagined. I had talked with her the night before and wanted to go to my sister's house for dinner which started at 2pm. My son was sick and my wife wasn't sure he'd be able to go outside. She also had some shopping that she wanted to go do. We agreed that I would stay home while she went shopping and attend to my son. If she was going to be late going to the dinner then she would call me in time enough to let me know if the weather was going to permit me to take my son and drive to Ennis and she'd meet us down there. I had expressed to her how important this dinner was to me. We had spent Thanksgiving with her family and had just made it back from St. Louis a day or so before New Years. The St. Louis trip used up the vacation time that I had and it was the 1st vacation I had for about 2 years. So I wanted to spend a little time with my family too. Well she goes shopping and I don't hear from her untill around 1:30 and she's calling to get suggestions for a gift for my nephews who would be at my sister's. I reminded her that the dinner started at 2:00. Now, mind you it's a 45 minute drive from our house to Ennis. I didn't get upset or raise my voice at her. She stated that she wasn't going to eat no way. I told her that I was and hadn't eaten in preparation to enjoy the meal. So she got an attitude and stated "Well do you want me to just come on home and forget the gifts?" I said no. Now, I didn't have the cash at that time to buy gifts for my family. I had already told them that I would get them gifts later in the month. My family understood. They had no problem with it. Anyway she made it home at around 3pm or so and had to wrap the gifts before we leave. While she was wrapping the gifts my mom called. This was the conversation:

Mom: Are yall still comming down?
Me: Yes
Mom: Has (my wife, sorry can't give the name) made it back home?
Me: Yes
Mom: Well everyone is leaving now but we put you some food up so you can get it when you get here.
Me: OK
Mom: See you then.
Me: OK

And we hung up the phone. My wife starts to acusing me of talking in code with my mom. This really made me angry because my wife had already been acting like me and my family were the enemy. Well, most of us anyway. She seemed to get along with my sister just fine. Anyway, the situation escalated from there...........

Check back soon for the blessing of this day and more home business tips. For those of you who stuck around and read this far, I leave you this which I recieved the week I just wrote about:

Hi, Anthony,

This time of year can be very stressing. The pressure of not having enough money or not being able to control your own shots can be overwhelming. What can you do?

Science Proves That 'Trying Harder' Won't Make You Successful.

Working hard certainly is a requirement but simply striving and struggling, pushing and punishing yourself are simply not sure-fire methods for getting the things you want out of life.

So when most people think of ‘Trying Harder’, they think of fighting with themselves, pushing themselves, depriving themselves, driving themselves. But science has now taught us that nothing could be further from the truth.

Over the past year we have helped thousands of people work a plan for getting exactly what they want and need. Our individualized Success Plan is a one of a kind in the network marketing industry. It’s recommended by some of the biggest earners in the industry as the closest thing there is to “sure-fire” success!

See For Yourself Just How Easy And Powerful Our Strategies Really Are.

Motivational Thought For The Week (by Ann Sieg)

“Recipe for success. Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing, prepare while others are playing, and dream while others are wishing.” - William A. Ward

What this means to me is that success does not come easily. It comes through sacrifice. It means giving up present pleasures for future benefits. Every time I do not give time to my business and get lazy I am actually robbing myself of a successful future. It is said that people are motivated by either plain or pleasure. So what motivates you- pain or pleasure? What motivates me is the pain of the likelihood of having a future of financial struggles. I do not want to have those struggles so I am willing to put in the time to create a future of financial security. The problem then becomes developing a sustainable motivation that will drive you towards disciplined action. Andre considers internal motivation to be like a muscle. Are you exercising that muscle every day so that you get into the daily discipline of action? My struggle has not been so much getting into action but more so devoting ample time towards study. The quote above has motivated me to get into my training at a more consistent level...especially the part "study while others are sleeping".

Do you have what it takes to be an e-entrepreneur?
Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
Author of "Dotcomology - The Science of Making Money Online"

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether
you’re cut out for this kind of work.

The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
they’re nuts.

More reasonably, there are people who are
concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the
investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running
their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.

I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or
wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you
her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen
and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next
Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?

For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
e-business the time, the work and the money it
needs to get started and get growing, it can
happen for you too.
